St. Ann's Episcopal Church on St. Ann's Avenue near 140th Street was often the scene of patriotic ceremonies as seen in this photo from 1955.   It is here where Lewis Morris, a Signer of the Declaration of Independence and Gouverneur Morris, a Framer of the Constitution of the United States are buried.   Here we see local veteran groups as well as local Boy and Sea Scouts in uniform during a ceremony.   - Photo courtesy of The Bronx County Historical Society

This photo taken at Pape Chevrolet Auto Dealer in 1960 which was on Tremont Avenue west of Westchester Square.   Notice all the salesmen gathered outside to inspect a brand new 1960 Chevy that just arrived.   The showroom window lets the public know of all the other models of Chevrolets that are available to all the increasing number of Bronxites who want to own a car.    - Photo courtesy of The Bronx County Historical Society.

Here's a photo taken back in 1960 of your webmaster Mike Marquez as a young one year old lad.    At the time of my birth, my parents lived on a one-bedroom apartment on Burke Avenue in The Bronx, where we lived until I was five years old.    We then moved to a Manhattan's lower eastside two-bedroom apartment anticipating the birth of my sister Mari, in 1964.   In 1965, we again relocated to The Bronx where we were raised.   I couldn't wait to grow up and create this web site!       - According to my family, this photo was taken in a photo studio near Allerton Avenue in The Bronx.
