Below is a partial list of places in our amazing borough where we can all go to
have fun. Click each link one by one.
"PLACES TO VISIT NOW"
We can visit:
THE BRONX ZOO can be accessed through Fordham Road right off of the Bronx River Parkway or Southern Boulevard near 180th Street.
You can also enter this wonderful place through Boston Road at Bronx Park South.
YANKEE STADIUM In the summer months of course! Conveniently located on 161st Street and River Avenue.
POE COTTAGE located on Grand Concourse near Kingsbridge Road. The famed author lived here with his wife.
While living here he wrote "The Bells" and Annabel Lee".
ARTHUR AVENUE. The Bronx' very own "Little
Italy". In my opinion, this Little Italy is much better and nicer than Manhattan's Little Italy.
Lots of authentic Italian shops, stores and fine restaurants to choose from here! You know when you are
there because the sweet aroma of baked breads and other products will let you know!
CITY ISLAND. If you are not into sea food,
you will learn to love it with just one visit here! This is the place for fishing, sea food lovers and
boaters of all ages!
THE CITY ISLAND MUSEUM located at 190 Fordham Street on City Island. Open only on Sundays.
It makes for a perfect cap to a seafood luncheon.
WOODLAWN CEMETERY located at 233rd Street and Webster Avenue. Check out the wonderful burial sites,
grounds and mausoleums of many famous people. Tours given weekly.
THE VAN CORTLANDT HOUSE located on Broadway and W. 246th Street. This is the oldest house in The Bronx.
It's a mid-18th century residence which was occupied for 140 years by the Van Cortlandt family. Since 1897, it
has been operating as a public museum. Bring your children!
WAVE HILL located at W. 249th Street and Independence Avenue.
